I need help deciding if my proposal is a good one. Can the ARC help with content tutoring?
No, the ARC does not provide MPR content tutoring. The ARC provides written & oral language-based support for Graduate students who need help expressing ideas related to their Midpoint Review Proposal.

Who can request help from the ARC?
Anyone can request help. You are especially encouraged to ask for help if you are a non-native English speaker, a student with a referral from your director or teacher, have a documented learning difference, or if you need to resubmit your MPR proposal. Fill out a Request for MPR Support form and submit to ARC.

Can I use the onsite Writing Lab to get help with my written proposal?
No, the Writing Lab doesn't work with MPR Proposals. Please fill out and submit a Request for MPR Support form and an MPR tutor will provide 1:1 tutoring (for both writing and presentation skills) throughout your proposal writing process. Please note the ARC must receive this request at least 7 business days before your MPR presentation.

Can I use the OWL (Online Writing Lab) to get help with my written proposal?
No, the OWL does not respond to submissions related to MPR Proposals.

Can I use the Speaking Lab to practice delivering my presentations?
Yes. You will be graded on your presentation skills during your MPR. You are encouraged to practice talking about your proposal with a MPR Specialist so that you can deliver your proposal professionally.
